NITERÓI - THE BEST OF ARCHITECT OSCAR NIEMEYER
TOUR INFORMATION
Niterói Tour: Art, History and Breathtaking Views 🌅
Founded in 1573 by the Araribóia Indigenous man of the Temiminós tribe—whose name means "fierce serpent"—Niterói is the only Brazilian city founded by an Indigenous person. Neighboring the Marvelous City, it is just 13 km from Rio, connected by the Rio-Niterói Bridge, and offers visitors over 11 km of stunning beaches and the most beautiful views in Rio de Janeiro.
Our tour begins by crossing Brazil's longest bridge, opened in 1974 and measuring 13,290 meters long. Along the way, you'll be able to admire incredible views, including Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Museum of Tomorrow, and Rio's historic center.
In Niterói, we will visit the famous Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), designed by Oscar Niemeyer and opened in 1996. An architectural and cultural icon, it houses one of the main collections of contemporary Brazilian art and is one of the city's great landmarks.
We'll follow Caminho Niemeyer, an urban and cultural complex that revitalized the city's waterfront between the city center and the Charitas neighborhood, bringing together impressive works by the master of modernist architecture.
Niterói is also the guardian of Brazilian military history, boasting the largest collection of forts and fortresses in the country. The most important of these, the Santa Cruz Fortress, was strategically built at the entrance to Guanabara Bay, playing a vital role in protecting Rio for centuries.
And to top it all off, we'll climb to Parque da Cidade: a natural lookout point with spectacular panoramic views of Niterói, Rio, ocean beaches, and the Serra do Mar mountain range. It's also a hang-gliding spot and the perfect setting for an unforgettable sunset.
✨ An experience that combines nature, history, architecture, and culture, showing how Niterói is much more than just Rio's "neighbor" — it's a surprising destination in its own right.

ADVANTAGES OF A PRIVATE TOUR
- Optimize your time and money by visiting and staying in the places you're interested in, without being delayed by other tourists, which unfortunately happens on group tours.
- Private and exclusive tour guide.
- Exclusive transportation, with total comfort. On a group tour, however, transportation is shared and often crowded, putting the health of you and your family and/or friends at risk (COVID-19).
- More detailed explanation, with the possibility of directing the information to your personal interests and those of your companions. An infinite number of questions are allowed, as this is an interpersonal relationship.
- There are no stops at pre-established restaurants and shops or tourist traps.
- Flexible schedules allow you to reach places when they're less crowded. Unlike a group tour, visiting times often coincide with other excursions, causing attractions to be crowded.
- We create tailor-made itineraries to visit only the places you and your travel companions want.
- More time to take photos, explore the sites, and stay where you and your companions are most interested. Without the hassle of tourists who are late, get lost, and disrupt your tour.
- Travel at your own pace and that of your fellow travelers. Stay where you and your companions are most interested. Without the hassle of tourists who are late, get lost, and disrupt the progress of your tour.
